  1. Probably........................................................... Oops! Sorry, Ian. Just thinking aloud! You're right about the reg's. I can't work out which pool you you are allowed to fish, depending on what you have or haven't paid for, which season tickets you need. How to be part of the syndicate, what day of the month as to whether you can park on the road.................................., the list is totally confusing.
  2. As a matter of interest, are there any pike in there, do you know?
  3. Tracker, do you fish there very often?
  4. And most of them bad. It's a bit notorious. I certainly wouldn't fancy doing a night there, or leaving my car on the car park when it's not daylight! Not trying to put you off, but someone was shot dead just over the road and a bit further down on the car park there, a couple of years ago. Think the police described it as "drug-related". As far as the fishing is concerned, I used to coarse fish there a long time ago, and I saw some large 'shapes' in the water by the reeds on the right hand side of the 'island'. In the channel. I spoke to three guys who had done a night on there in the winter of 2006/2007 and they'd been told by the Park Ranger that there were carp to mid twenties in there. It was bitter cold, and they hadn't had a run all night, and they were waiting to be picked up. Make of this what you will, but they were moving their gear to the car park in turns. One in the car park, one at the pool, and one carrying the gear from the pool to the car park! Phil
  5. Think it's syndicate with a waiting list. Do a search though, 'cos I'm sure it was in a thread recently. By the way, welcome to the forum.
  6. I take it you are also wetting the knot before tightening? Silly question I know, but thought I'd better ask. As 666 says, one of the joys!!! Nothing worse than tying up with a knotless knot and curling it when you tie it to a swivel! You cut it off and the same happens again, and you then think it's now too short, and you have to start again.
  7. Did you catch the one in the ninth pic with a daffodil pop-up? Seriously, some nice fish there. Memories to be proud of, that's for sure.
  8. I used to keep about a dozen or so different rigs in safe, but found I rarely used them, as I make 'em up on the bamk. I still keep a couple of stiff rigs and three or four braid rigs in there just in case I need to try something different. But to be honest, I cant remember when I last looked in there!!
  9. All's well that ends well. Life's too short. Let's all enjoy our fishing. After all, that's why we're on here in the first place? Eh? I feel one of the setting up details that we "lost in translation" due to all wanting to see a picture of the actual rig, was the size of lead and the way the rod was set under tension to the weight. Perhaps this is one of the contributing factors as to how successful this method is? Certainly got me wondering (and thinking). Lot of thought has gone into it. Thanks for sharing Shaun.
  10. Tel 0247 6402900 (found that in Coventry pet and animal feed shops).
  11. Thanks for the info on that everyone. But can anyone confirm if the "no-knot" knot is the one I was thinking of in the original thread, or is it some other style of knot?
  12. No, nor me Sharpy.
  13. Something I read recently, was someone advising someone else to use a "no-knot knot" as opposed to a knotless knot, due to the hair on a knotless knot twisting and kinking. Can anyone tell me what a no-knot knot is, and is it correct about the twisting? On second thoughts, is that the knot like a knotless knot but you put the end back through the eye of the hook and "blob" the end of the line?
