  1. I'm not a member, but there are contact numbers on their website. http://www.brookfieldfisheries.co.uk/
  2. Hiya. I visited there about four maybe five years ago. From what I remember, there are 3 pools. The bottom one is supposed to be the carp one, the middle one was full of rudd, and I mean full! But there are carp in there. The top pool which is in front of the clubhouse, I was catching them from under my feet. Sweetcorn on the hook, keep feeding sweetcorn, and wait. That was on a float. I was feeding and keeping still, and they were literally fighting for the bait. Get a lot of "line bites" though. I was only there for an afternoon, as I was staying at Revel's, just up the road, so to speak. All arond the 10 to 12 pound mark.
  3. Hiya fella! Welcome Back! Long time no post, so to speak!
  4. 135 words? Hardly War and Peace (1408 pages)? I don't really think I am too much of a whiz with a pen. But I do try hard on presenting my thoughts on forums such as this so people can easily understand what I am trying to say. When the medium you are using is utterly dominated by the written word, I feel the least I can do is to try and make the posts as pleasant and readable as possible. Seems only fair to me. In all fairness and bringing the discussion back to the original comment, I think the point being made was that it is easier on the brain to read a comment of seven words as opposed to reading something that says the same using 135 words? Hence the referral to War and Peace. I would imagine that book could be condensed somewhat without losing the theme? But then again, it probably wouldn't have been judged as a "classical piece of work"?
  5. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=37603 Found in 'Rig Tying Stickies'. I would suggest the free running rig.
  6. I can't see any harm in it. It can only help people in / or wanting to visit the area?
  7. I can only offer a suggestion, i.e. why not try one rod with a size 4 hook, maybe with the size of hookbait that the owner also recommends, and your other rods with the rigs you are confident with, and see which works out best? Then take it from there. One of them may be better, or maybe not?
  8. You don't think they may be ready to spawn, do you?
  9. That's not a very safe way of softening ear wax, you know?
  10. You'll be inundated now, I'll bet? There're loads on here from your neck of the woods!!!
  11. There you are. I love a happy ending. Can't go wrong on this forum.
  12. Good piece of advice, there, Jim. And thought provoking.
  13. I use a tulip bead as a rule, the swivel sits nicely inside.
