  1. Alka Seltzer?
  2. 135 words? Hardly War and Peace (1408 pages)? I don't really think I am too much of a whiz with a pen. But I do try hard on presenting my thoughts on forums such as this so people can easily understand what I am trying to say. When the medium you are using is utterly dominated by the written word, I feel the least I can do is to try and make the posts as pleasant and readable as possible. Seems only fair to me. In all fairness and bringing the discussion back to the original comment, I think the point being made was that it is easier on the brain to read a comment of seven words as opposed to reading something that says the same using 135 words? Hence the referral to War and Peace. I would imagine that book could be condensed somewhat without losing the theme? But then again, it probably wouldn't have been judged as a "classical piece of work"?
  3. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=37603 Found in 'Rig Tying Stickies'. I would suggest the free running rig.
  4. You don't think they may be ready to spawn, do you?
  5. That's not a very safe way of softening ear wax, you know?
  6. Good piece of advice, there, Jim. And thought provoking.
  7. I use a tulip bead as a rule, the swivel sits nicely inside.
  8. Out of interest, Jake, why are you going back to the Kamasan B775's?
  9. I take it you are also wetting the knot before tightening? Silly question I know, but thought I'd better ask. As 666 says, one of the joys!!! Nothing worse than tying up with a knotless knot and curling it when you tie it to a swivel! You cut it off and the same happens again, and you then think it's now too short, and you have to start again.
  10. I used to keep about a dozen or so different rigs in safe, but found I rarely used them, as I make 'em up on the bamk. I still keep a couple of stiff rigs and three or four braid rigs in there just in case I need to try something different. But to be honest, I cant remember when I last looked in there!!
  11. All's well that ends well. Life's too short. Let's all enjoy our fishing. After all, that's why we're on here in the first place? Eh? I feel one of the setting up details that we "lost in translation" due to all wanting to see a picture of the actual rig, was the size of lead and the way the rod was set under tension to the weight. Perhaps this is one of the contributing factors as to how successful this method is? Certainly got me wondering (and thinking). Lot of thought has gone into it. Thanks for sharing Shaun.
  12. Tel 0247 6402900 (found that in Coventry pet and animal feed shops).
  13. Thanks for the info on that everyone. But can anyone confirm if the "no-knot" knot is the one I was thinking of in the original thread, or is it some other style of knot?
  14. No, nor me Sharpy.
  15. Something I read recently, was someone advising someone else to use a "no-knot knot" as opposed to a knotless knot, due to the hair on a knotless knot twisting and kinking. Can anyone tell me what a no-knot knot is, and is it correct about the twisting? On second thoughts, is that the knot like a knotless knot but you put the end back through the eye of the hook and "blob" the end of the line?
