  1. 65ft of leader? Seriously? most of the fish iv caught have not even been from out as far as that I've fished with people who can't cast that far
  2. You can get hooks with an out turned eye designed for fluro
  3. What is the exchange rate ? into £
  4. Just keep using braid if that is what you like to use , yes it is possible it may cause damage but so can other hook link material
  5. Are you talking about hook links ?
  6. Inspired ! thankyou for that, it these little tips that are going to help me no end i will try that next time out once again thankyou
  7. Andy, could you tell me some secrets pleeeese , be ya best mate
  8. I use the Korda wide gape size 10
  9. No expert on the subject but many seem to use the Drenham double strenth
  10. Its something i tried after watching my normal braid rigs being picked up and spat out , i felt that the fish were very wary and feeling the rig changing to the mono resulted in 3 fish from 3 takes including a 28lb mirror , they worked on that day.
  11. If fishing where i can drop a rig in and see it i use long ( 20" ) mono rigs
  12. Hadn't used mono for ages till last September ,was stalking a small swim watching my rigs being picked up and put down ( very wary fish ) made some long mono rigs up , about 24" long picked up 3 fish including a new pb of 28.4 lb
  13. This aint my specialist subject but ive done a few basicly you tie them as you would any basic hook lenth it just means you have to pull the whole lenth of the zig through the eye of the hook and then tie a quick link at the lenth you require ( for a fixed lenth one ) hope this helps
  14. Bilob , please don't take this the wrong way but it seems you might be trying to run before you can walk . Most tackle shops will sell braid rigs or stiff rigs and between them they probably result in catching 70% of all fish caught . Concentrate on the hook and bait presentation if this is wrong it wont matter how camouflaged your line is .
  15. Just ditch the tubing if your that botherde put a few bits of putty on the main line . Maybe its just me but if your concerned about presentation and spooking a fish with the rig tube then just do away with it
  16. I would say quite simply push the hook , shank towards the point which will slightly extend the hole the hook has made and rotate the hook out keeping the pressure on as you remove the hook ,firm but gentle.
  17. Differs depending on bait , 10mm up to 50mm for a big piece of potato in theory you should be altering the length depending on circumstance

    Hooklink

Running rigs are one thing but i still don't get how lighter strenth hook links can help should your main line get snagged , there is no way any carp is going to break a 12/15 braid or 15lb main line

    Hooklink

in theory your hooklink should be the first to break as it is a lower BS than your mainline. This results in the fish trailing round a matter of inches of line rather than alot more, saving the fish a lot of distress. I have to say i can't think of a situation where i want anything to break nor why it would.

    Hooklink

Please excuse my ignorance on this one what is achieved by using lower breaking strain hook link material than your main line strength
