Bayford lake what roads are these located off?
craigmarky replied to craigmarky's topic in UK Venues and Where to Fish
That is the main lake and the one with the largest quantity of carp and cats in there also the largest size carp. Its at the end of a track off of Bayford Ln/Broad Green not far from the farm. You can pre book it exclusive and it is always pre booking only to keep numbers down. I used too get reports from here weekly from the owner when i wrote weekly reports in carp talk and also used to fish with a guy that fished it a few years ago and he had some mid size double cats and a carp just over 20 i saw the pics. From the pics i saw it was clean and tidy lots features. I going to go have a look at it tommorow. -
Recommended lakes for a weekend?
craigmarky replied to kirkus's topic in UK Venues and Where to Fish
might be a bit far away as a bit over an hour but if ypou want facilities and lots 20s then i would say your best bet is probably linear fisheries in Oxford. There are plenty lakes in Herts but not many have facilities or as much chance of catching lots 20s too easily -
Hi guys and girls i posted on here a few days ago for some info on this venue. I visited it yesterday and had a big walk around. As soon as i got into the carpark i saw immediate improvements have been made at the top of the carpark there is a noticeable wooden pole present that is riged with a few cameras that will hopefully keep an eye on cars and stop the flytipers. Also present in the carpark is a nice clean portaloo. Price wise from chating to locals i am told its now £6 per rod for an adult daytimes and £15 a night but nights must be pre booked by calling first. So the lake itself there were only three guys on there so very quiet and i am told by one guy its very easy to get nigyt booked at the moment and even days at the weekends. I am told its still fishing very slowly one guy had done 24 hours and nothing. I did see one fish only a small carp crash out the middle not far from the main island along the gravel pit area. The water level is very very high and the only way the entire lake is wellies or treading very careful as the water is right int the beach at the far end. It muddy in a few places but generally not to bad it appears quite a bit of effort has been made with gravel etc. Sadly the pier that used to go out into the water is gone (this had gone long before my last visit), however the trees each side of the pier are now gone too but these looked like they needed cutting down last time i was there so certainly neccessary. I climbed a few hills looking for the fish and i saw a few signs but not a lot the water is very coloured. I know people have tried zig rigs, maggots etc to try get the fish on the feed but none seam to be having too much effect. I decided i am going to get a lil fishing in here in the next week so will let people know how i get on. I shall be visiting for a lil more info and research and seeing if i can locate the fish before the sesion as well as watching the weather to see how long this mild spell will last. It will be me getting back into fishing after two years out.

hertfordshire day ticket lakes
craigmarky replied to chrisjames's topic in UK Venues and Where to Fish
thanks fo cering that one up as i have been wanting t hear it independenty confirmed that this guy exists for a while. Why everyone might be assuming that the weights reported by the fishery are over reported i have a sneaky feeling from the cagey way you are talking that the weights being reported are being under reported because this guy is trying to keep it a secret little treasure chest by under reporting. I knew it had to be either he was not real or there was a very gud reasonto keep doingit when the weights are not ott. -

i just saw some very concerning reports and pictures on Sky news regarding fresh floods in oxford with more rain possible at weekend. I am still in Australia until June 14th so can not get news. Has this affected Linear or any other waters? (i really do have my fingers crossed it hasnt and wont i know it is almost a year on i thinking bout all concerned last year and i will keepthem fingers crossed)

I am not convined that it is at the moment but i really truely believe in time it will recover. Lets not fully right it off. What they went through was huge devistation last year and its still under 12 months.

as i thought then from looking at the news on their website

I am also looking t the catch results but theres a noticeble difference it was a plac to go bet your personal best easy when you in the teens or low 20s and was probably the easiest place ibn the UK to go nd have chance at a few 20s but is it stil like that or not really. What the difference. I hope it recovers back to thoe days as it so well run from the couple trips i did have

is the place recovering from last years events?
