Hi All, Does anybody know if Huntley Carp Pools is still running? I've had no response to a couple of emails and the phone is never answered

On my travels with work I often bomb up and down the M40 and have noticed that there is a fishery right by the Northbound M40 by the Thame junction. It has those wooden wigwam type shed thingies round it! Anybody know what it's called and whether its got a website?

not for me, got to take 2 11yr olds and need somewhere where they will get a take or two

Why doesn't this surprise me? Nod club trying to run a carp water with absolutely no clue! Great shame and perhaps the current committee should think about standing aside and letting people who know what they are doing run the shop!

Yes it is in the grounds of a private house and the chap who owns the house will not let anybody on it

The fish are in a complete state due to the poor fish handling I have witnessed! Owner (who hasnt got a clue IMO and cares even less!) has a stupid boilie ban but then doesnt insist on unhookinh mats! Ive lost count of the amount of rows Ive had with idiots who were letting carp flap around on hard ground there! The island is a fish magnet but they are all small...........I always did very well to the left of the car park and about 5 swims up...and then only about 3 rod lengths out Zigs would rip that place apart I stopped fishing it about 2 years ago as I just couldnt stand the nod element and the poor fish care.

The pool by the road to Witley Court is not the Washing Pool, the Washing Pool is up the track to the left. NEITHER of these pools hold 40lb carp as just stated by the previous poster!

Havent been out for ages due to a total lack of enthusiasm and work commitments but am determined to force myself out tomorrow. Need some suggestions to whet my appetite. Looking for a decent venue (runs water) within 30 miles of Worcester and suitable to take my 10 yr old with me. Was thinking of Tirley Court but have heard there's too many stupid rules...... any ideas?

I've actually never fished it. whats the stock like? any idea of rules on there ? I seem to remember there were loads which was why we never bothered with it

Has anybody fished Holt Pool (opposite Top Barn) lately ? Is the bailiff stillthe same miserable bloke who takes the money at Top Barn?

the pool you refer to is not dingle or hazelhurst, they are at witley fisheries which is the other side of the main road towards shrawley. the pool you are talking about is owned and run by the two old farmers pat and jim payne and to be honest is a complete waste of time. the lake is full of carp but they are all snotters......biggest possibly a low double. you will hear rubbish talked about fish to mid 20s but that is what it is ..total tosh. having grown up and fished around the area u get to know where the decent fish r! The pool is also the worst lake I have ever fished for litter...it's disgusting and in summer is over run with rats even in the day time. steer clear if I were u and pm me and I'll give you some more ideas locally that do have some decent fish to go at.

yeah and it grinds me to say so! but my `brother' is right nobody has been big fish fishing on the Severn as long as we all have!..caught my first 20 in 1987 and well remember the capture of our first z in 1990!

christ calm down boys!!! this is exactly why I steer clear of internet forums!!! As somebody who fished a lot with Ray Armstrong, he was a true pioneer who thoroughly deserved the record he caught. BUT this is a carp forum so back on track please boys!!!

Yeah Id heard a lot of nods get down there.....that and the tackle theft problem good enough reason to steer clear me thinks. found a nice little venue further south, was just looking to air the gear before we disappear to france 2 weeks today

yeah i know the lake quite well having pike fished it a lot in the early 90s. Just interested in the dos and donts and I have heard its not a particularly safe lake to fish at night and as Im takin junior wonder if anybody has had any trouble there
