  2. Sooooo ? How did you get on Smudge A whacker or two ? Or cheque book and pen ?
  3. Not fished the lake mate but I will offer a bit of advice on the check list,I`m sure others will add more First thing I will say is "fish like you do in the UK",no need to do anything different,if you can catch Carp here you can catch carp in Francais...... Second thing I will say is,"don`t assume French carp are mugs,"lol,In my experience they can be moody, very moody Anyway back to the check list, Batterys, trust me they cost a fortune in France. Hooks, wide gape and strong, they have big gobs.... Take plenty of leads, just incase,as tackle is often hard to come by,and normally pretty basic unless your near a big town. Good Luck
  4. Yep,it don`t help either when the Dover-Boulogne crossing goes belly up Just makes the rest of them up their prices......

    zig rig

I have to say that the fox adjustable zig kit is very good, been using it a lot lately and not had it tangle on me once.
  7. Go to the local Tabac as they normally sell the fishing permits .I think you can get a day license from them aswell. Worth a go.....
  8. Well I have a job in France at the end of March and managed to sneak a couple of days fishing in,probably at Etang Marolles. In may I am taking my 2 eldest boys to a runs lake In Mayenne where we meet up with other dads and lads for a long weekend In august we are going to Les Rivets, looking forward to this one the most And back to Etang Marolles in October.....I love France, bring it on....
  9. Hello mate, I fished here in 2008,nice venue and well run. Its a very deep lake with a marginal shelf.I fished it in May and we found it hard going, although the fish were obviously thinking about other things as they started to spawn as we left. I had 2 runs and banked only the one,26lb mirror. 4 others were on the lake and blanked!! So I thought myself pretty lucky to have had at least one. I do believe they stocked more fish last year so would presume its a bit easier now,but being such a deep lake,7 acres is more like 21 acres of water with a low stock. We did see lots of BIG fish,on the shelf on the bank where there are no swims and also in the corner swim(the one away from the lodge)so they are in there but we wernt good enough to have em,lol... A couple of guys were there the week before us and managed a dozen fish so if you hit it at the right time you will bank a few,but deffo not a runs water, good luck.....
