    rigs

Not prob's. Your new anyway, just makes it easier if we stay on topic
  3. Wait til the summer and stalk
  4. Could be to do with the way the fish picked up the bait, giving you a poor hook hold. Nash Fang X and ESP super specalist are all i use.
  5. Nash Fang X
  6. http://www.carp.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=14460&perpage=20&pagenumber=1
  7. It might not be the tubing but the rest of the rig, are you using braid or mono? What hook etc...
  8. Would i be right in saying fluro carbon's line IQ arent very abrasion resistant, this would be a good reason for not using it too thin, in light breaking strains.
  9. Rob who "invented" this rig is already a name in carp fishing. He has used this work on all kinds of venue's from Swan valley to Sutton. No its not the next hair rig, but its another trick up your sleve. Presenting maggots can be a pain, the korda rings are one way, tieing them on dentail floss is another, as is the cork ball set up. The mag aliner is just another way that is easy to set up and works very well.

    rig putty

Coops is that the stuff you showed me at the social? Pukka stuff, i did get hold of some but havent seen it around for a while. Using the kyston heavy metal, make sure you warm it up/melt it before you put it on and then dunk it to let it set.
  11. There are few carp in the broads, and i dont even think they grow to any size (correct me if im wrong). You could spend a few early summer mornings looking for them, before the holiday makers wake.
  12. Has anyone felt the edges of the crimps, very sharpe, it you do end up using the crimp cover them in silicone tub. When crimping i have only use ESP ghost, i give the crimp three crushes, are you crushing.crimping them hard enough? i then blob the tag end with a lighter and using a tooth pick i put a small amount of glue into the crimp. Then cover with silicone. stevejb, would you like me to make you some boom sections up??? I could tie you a few and pop them in the post?
  13. Are you jsut trying to created a stiff boom section?? or the whole rig?
  14. needle knot or splice.
  15. Atomic used to do brightly coloured bottle leads, because they where different to the standard brown, gray, green leads that everyone uses. They caught fish.
  16. :D Well what would you like? lol
  17. If you want i can take some pictures of how i tie mine up?
  18. The helicopter rig and chod rig are almost the same. I wouldnt use it for snag fish or anything but open water, as you have a lot less control of the fish. This is because your pulling directly on the lead not the fish making it harder to turn the fish. However it is the only rig that will allow the fish to only carry the hooklink around, so it far safer then anything else.
  19. Fang X
  20. No rig is too short, most end up right by the lead any way.
  21. Have you ever seen leadcore on even a "flat" bottom? None of them are heavy enough to lie flat. The bottom on a flat area is never flat, on gravel its even worst. However i do use leadcore just because the bars where i fish are real nasty and i need at least 6 foot of leadcore to stop me getting cut off. Best tubing is thick solid plastic, put a load of wire around the top end to make sure it sinks and jobs a good un.
  22. This article but Brian should be very helpful.
  23. basic knotlessknot hair rig, caught almost every carp in the land.
  24. Nash Fang X.
  25. it should say, but i cant be sure. I no it tells you on the ESP lead core. ERm stry doing a search on google mate there should be pics somewhere
