  1. If you hook a whacker of a carp on that mate, it will just snap you. I can assure you it is not as strong as a palomar or grinner. Im suprised you have all ready landed fish on it.
  2. A blood knot would break straight away if using braid. Alot of people still use them on mono with good results though.
  3. I personally poor boiling hot water over them and leave for 30 seconds. Put them into a small sandwich bag or something, blow air into it and then tie it. After you have done this leave them in the fridge over night and they should turn rubbery, perfect texture for the hook.
  4. If there are no pest fish that attack your bait, then i would say use a big bit of bread flake, it works a treat.
  5. I would say that you catch more carp by making your own rigs for sure. You can play around with the length, different hook link materials and experiment to find better hook holds. Also you can match the rig to match the situation.
  6. you will find that you start catching lots more fish if you do start tying your own. And it is more of an achievement when you catch a fish.
  7. I would definetely try using a different hooklink. Just keep experimenting and see what works best for you.
  8. What lead clip set up are you using?
  9. I personally think that the fox and korda inline method feeders are the best.
