  1. It makes sense to me now you've mentioned it. Thanks
  2. Hi Yonny, Thanks for the positive comments regarding Trent Shrimp. I've decided to go for it. I only hear praise for Trent and they've got those white cork balls back in stock at last Cheers for also sharing your common capture, what a creature!! Luke
  3. I like the Korda subline in 20lb, its over 0.4mm in diameter, not busted on me yet.
  4. Hello mate, Thanks for the detailed response, The Squid does smell good, funny how it's only us anglers that appreciate the smell, my mrs says it stinks! lol!! I've got some shrimp in shelf life, do you use shelf life exclusively now? I've dabbled with them in the past. lost one on my last outing after baiting with Trent Shrimp shelf life only. Trent said about mixing both but that fried my brain even more, I only like to use one boilie. With a quality name like SAS (who dares wins) makes me think it will be the squid. Lets see, its a biggie for me changing. Thanks again pal. Its much appreciated!
  5. Hi, Has anyone done well on Trent SAS Squid? I purchased a kilo of each SAS Squid, Shrimp and matching cork ball pop ups. They both look and smell amazing, I'm torn between the 2 and am looking to bulk buy soon. I see online lots of folk rate the shrimp, not much info on the SAS squid. Squid flavoured baits do well on my lake, but shrimp sounds like it can't be ignored. Thanks Luke
  6. Thanks for the heads up!
  7. Hi Yonny, Where can I buy size 2 hooks for stiff rigs? I couldn't find any online. The closest I've got is a Korda wide gape in a 2. I tied up a rig with the size 2 wide gape and a 16mm cork ball hookbait. I had to steam it because of the line exiting angle. It does look lethal.
  8. Hi, Does anybody use a size 8 swivel instead of putty and a size 11 swivel for their hinge rigs? I can balance mine perfectly with a size 8 Korda PTFE ring swivel (cutting the ring off with crimp tool) and an ESP large balance bead. I would like to know if anyone else has had success using it set it up like this or something similar using different components? Thanks
  9. Thanks Kev. 👍 Thanks Kev 👍
  10. Thanks for the input chaps.
  11. Hi, Is a size 4 Korda Choddy hook on a hinge rig too big for a 14mm pop up? There's no issues with the pop ups I'd like to use, they're super buoyant. I've previously fished this rig with a 16mm hook baits so using these 14mm ers makes the hook looks a bit too big! Am I overthinking this and the set up I intend to use is good to whack out in the pond? Thanks
  12. Hi, I dont go very often, family life always seems to get in the way. Do you think they'll last a 3 night trip? I cant leave anyting to chance, last time I went was in August.
  13. Thanks mate, 👍
  14. Hi Kev, Have you tried the Korda ones?
  15. Thanks for the heads up regarding the running rings. I just checked mine, I cant see how the line could cut into them? Maybe they've been updated?? I hope I dont have your issue, I purchased 5 kits. 🤞
  16. Cheers mate 👍
  17. Hi Yonny, Thanks for reaching out. I have some spare spools so will order some GT-HD, Do you reckon the 12lb line will be fine for 100 yard cast with 3.5oz leads? Thanks
  18. Hi, I'm going to use zig floats for the first time at the weekend, my lake deepest swims are 16ft. I've never used zig floats before, my 3ft hook links consists of 11lb Korda zig line, Fox zig float, 3.5oz leads and fox aligners with Fox black foam and size 6 Korda Kamakura wide gape hooks. Is 15lb Korda subline (0.4mm) overkill as mainline, I'm paranoid about crack offs. Thanks
  19. Thank you sir!
  20. Hello, I've been looking at using these, are they throwing stick friendly?
