  1. Ordering an sj6 jacket nect week I know there is a size guide on there website but does the sizing come up large or small? If you know what I mean?
  2. Yeah know that feeling. That's why I fish the river a lot too. I used to fish a 120 acre club lake that only had about 15 of us on it man I miss that water but just can't put the time in now. I did one session "gusting" last year but will be down there loads next season
  3. Theese are couple I had last year both had the curtains intact. Not huge but more then likey uncaught and went wild when hooked
  4. Ok great will be o4dering some next week. Just the normal dwarfs not paying 40 quid extra just for cork ones
  5. Not sure on reel pouch of the holdall though as doesn't look very big not sure if the bp10s wpuld find in there
  6. There's only one lake where i might need to go over 60 yards. But i very rarely go there and it 'll only take 10 mins to swap my totally over I'll give them a punt if I dont like them ill I dont like I'll sell them on and get the scopes. Will still have to get the scope quiver and reel pouches as dont think ill be able to fit what i need into the dwarf rod holdall
  7. Yeah not looking for massive distance. Makes no sense buying 10 foot rods if I want distance haha. I'll be keeping my big rod for if I go back to big water( but I dont think I will)
  8. A ok maybe ill aviod dwarf then haha. Shame the scopes are so so much money but the tt ones do look good. And I havnt heard one bad thing about them and I get the same tc I'm used too Sonik have done the own which are same lenght as the scopes so should fit in the quiver the same with reel pouches and there only about 80 quid each. But there 40mm rings and seem rarer then rocking horse tied to find out about I'm planning doing dping a few nights on places i shouldnt (nothing illegal though haha) hence the packdown size being important. Want be as small as possible
  9. I think.shorter session make you work harder imo because it makes you work rather then boring one out. Most 9f my trips one nighters now as I have a Mrs and a house to do up and much prefer it compared to when i used to do 3 nights. As it so much less hassle to organise myself and mean I do lighter so can be more mobile
  10. Anyone know the diffenrce bewteen the scope rods loand the dwarf rods like the look of both the scope tt from try and the ad cork ones. I know there priced differently and the tt have 50mm butt ring Looking at 3.25 on the scope or 3.5 in the dwarfs as will use them with 3-4 oz leads with a back lead or a big dead bait
  11. Not a massive pellet fan only really use them in winter like a tiny little bag of 2-3mm or mix some halibuts in just before prebaiting when i want to get a spot clear
  12. Tbh I always leave some in the car. If I need it. But i never do.
  13. This is true... But if srill rather carry a stick and not use it then a bucket of spod mix and spod and spombs. In fact I've used my spod rod of little I'm getting rid of it as I've used it once in the last 18 months I've be spirting round the lakes for the rest of the season with just 3 rods instead of my normal 4 or 5.
  14. Yeah this is why I've gone down to bags and a stringers alot of the time ive never used more then half a kilo on a night
  15. Took me a while and about 5 kg of bait hahah but I havnt used it while so no doubt I'll be out practice with it now
  16. Love a spoon for close work. I love it on the river for prebaiting take literally no time at all
  17. Never thought of this. Might be a way to get round the birds a bit too. If the birds are a pain I just put a stringer on I just can't be bothered with the spomb extra weight to carry and extra thing to clip.up plus i prefer a bit of spread
  18. Just for a point of conversation whats Your preferred way of baiting up Personally its the stick catty or pva. Can't remeber the last time I used my spod rod.
  19. Yeah in a couple of years I might go back to massive water I used to fish (120 acres) and I would still like to go back to. so I'd only have possibly swap back and find the extra for the long rods again. Plus I love my sk4s and scopes are like 400 for a pair that I want then the extra for ne2 rod holdall Maybe if something happens to sk4 I'd be more likey to entertain the idea
  20. Now I'm only fishing the river and smaller lakes not bigger then 6-7 acres. I'm tempted to swap out my sk4s. For 10fters Has anyone else swapped how have you found it Only after 2 rods would still like to hit 80 yards and have cork handles I used to have Nash dwarfs but found the handle a little to short. So debating scopes as tgey have the longer handle. But i dont think I'd find everything I need in on of the rod sleeves. Ie sling and throwing stick And heard awful things about the big coffin carrier thing they make
  21. Thats what I normally do but as I say that 3rd rod never seems to esp much reward
  22. Deffo avoid a bivvy then. Imo they take far to long to set up compared to brolly system especially for jusy a day or night When i was looking for lighter shelter for a night I was torn bewteen the tempset lo pro (both of which you can get fronts and groundsheet for) or a standard 60inch brolly. In the end i settled with lo pro in the end as it had the better foot print was cheaper and overall lighter..if had to rebuy its a choice I'd make again as it ideal for me now. There is loads of budget friendly systems out there now.buy your money take your chance I had good brolly from saber. On fact still going strong with my brother 5-6 years later. Hopefully the fox quality has improved compared to the sieve brolly system which leaked awfully (well mine did) my one also weighted something like 11-12kg
  23. Yeah lik total fishing do a deal but still about 300 quid I have the lo pro the smaller version and am a big fan of it Is there reason it had to have front on it? Personally I hate having a front on my shelter other then a mozzi mesh as i feel like I'm shutting the nature out. Personally I'd alway go with the brolly over bivvy jusy because of weight and time to put up
