  1. Happens alot on commercials, but if they blank and you catch on another spot, it feels great.... Or "Accidentally" trip over his bait bucket, fish the margin tomorrow lol...
  2. About 1500 to spare? Already WDNAC and Dallington AC member and ex-Castle AA
  3. Anyone know anywhere round Northampton with tickets left....Ive took a year off work to do some serious Carp fishing, looking round theres not many night permits about local . 24hr tickets at 20-25 quid a time are bankrupting me fast..Spoke to 3 day bailiffs this year, different lakes, who all said at least 5 members renew membership but only fish 2/3 times a year, one not seen in over 2 years, its ridiculous in their opinion and mine. I do 3/4 nights a session, at least once a month. Cheers.
  4. Floating bread/dog biscuits are always worth a go on moving water imo, and liquidized bread/sloppy mix going in (same as boat waste) ....I live very close to GUC Northampton, seen loads of carp first light cycling to/from work.
  5. Fair play to you lads.. I've always fancied pike fishing but never confident enough to unhook them , so dont bother trying. Caught a few by accident, great fight. Getting spiked by perch is enough for me..Saw a guy land a 28lb from the GUC last year.
  6. Flood relief/storage water, down river from Whitewater Centre,Bedford rd roundabout, dont know who owns this, but there are 4 lakes nearby (wesgon mill ?) and Billing on opposite bank...Also shoals of large carp upstream.
  7. All I can say is Northampton flood relief waters, I THINK the escapee's are in them..These are where the last flood water flows to, do the fish follow the water. I bait them up during winter, by summer the fish are on it. Only trouble is getting permission, but most owners can be bribed for a beer or two.
  8. I know a couple of the Irthlingborough ones still have very big carp, don't know if its a nature reserve though...Did a night a few years back, I blanked but some lad had a couple of big uns off the far bank.
  9. Thanks all...Same here, if I can help out with anything, I will...I understand some places are kept quiet...There are loads of unknown lakes around here but are they unknown or kept a secret..I've got a couple.
  10. Seen quite a few locals on here ie CM , funny thing is weve probably shared a bank and wouldnt even know it...Read so many posts of local waters i can only dream about now due to predation/pollution/poaching...Was looking at a lease on Sharman (few yrs ago) until the still unexplained fish kills, so many lost waters in Nene valley, but still some great ones.
  11. Hi all, Just a quick intro..Name,Tom..Favourite fish Carp/Tench/Crucians...Fishing spots, Northants/Oxford pits and the Nene...PBs Carp 24lb 6oz, Tench 7lb, Chub 5 1/2lb, bream 10lb...Fave lakes Collingtree 'secret' lake ( gone ),Wold Farm, untouched farm ponds...Tight lines all.
  12. If they've been caught and released many times, is getting caught still regarded as danger ? Maybe they know they will be released after capture - how long is a carps memory? Do carp consider certain baits as danger and some safe, ie bloodworm boilies ( naturals) ?....Got me thinking, chillfactor.
