I assumed you turn up and pay. I normally fly fish at kennnick and assumed i could turn up and fish it i will have to look in to it more.

Hi guys i was just wondering if any one has fished tottiford lake near exeter in devon. i am looking at fishing there this weekend. just not sure what bait/boilies to take? if you have had any luck bait info and pictures would be awesome. i have been told there are some fairly big fish in there many thanks ross

Hi guys thank you very much for the replies and welcoming me to the forum. I forgot to mention the carp rods I bought had 2.5 strain on it (I think that's what it is called) also I ended up purchasing a 2 sets of reels off eBay last night and turns out to be a good guess purchase as it was lineaeffe reels you keep recommending. I also bought some Korda wide gate hooks size six. Once I get my set up I'll get a picture for you guys one question do u just tie the hook to the line?

Hi guys i am completely new to carp fishing. i normally do fly fishing. I have purchased a couple of 12 ft rods off of gum tree as my mate has recommended we try carp fishing in are local lake. (mild mead Devon) I now have been looking for reels and i don't have a clue which one to get or which line to get or have a clue what leader i need. i am thinking of getting a reel that can take up to 20 pound line. do i need a leader like in fly fishing? i am a complete Noob! Also i have had a look on ebay and searched carp fishing and there is loads of gizmos. what is the basic gear i need to get me going? many thanks ross
