Another good tip. The fold up camping chairs, they slide into a quiver holdal no problem. I Got a military surplus one off eBay for 12.99. It's actually more comfy than any other fishing chair I've had. You just need a very even surface. On slopes they are no good. Frees up a hand to carry something else if needed.

I've not heard a thing bad about them but I don't tend to see many on the banks. Reviews seem generally ok. I don't find them as aesthetically pleasing as delks or foxes mind. But if they do the job and don't break I suppose that doesn't really matter

What do you fellas think of Nash alarms?

The second hand lxr still go for around 350 it would seem. Bit pricey

I'm awaiting an imminent fox vs delks debate somewhere on this thread 😂. Being new to proper carping I'm always eyeing up people's set ups on the banks. I see untold amounts of delkims. Top of the range delkims and foxes are a bit out of my price range. I sway toward fox as most of my set up is fox and I've found all their stuff pukka. Looking at around 200-250 for some good condition rx's or dxr's I think. Still a steep lay out but everyone keeps telling me they are bomb proof so think I'll be getting a set

Cheers buddy. Has the white paint on the dials rubbed off of your mrx? It's a small thing but annoying considering I've only had them a year. Mine are just the mx I'll add. I bought them when new to carping not realising I'd want a receiver. I just like the aesthetics of the older style ones. And I hear great things about them. Especially the lxr. I have to agree there isn't much concrete info on these alarms and a lot of conflicting stuff. I did research but it ended up confusing me even more

Can someone tell me the difference? Are they all digital or analogue? Wanting to get a set second hand but can't decide on which. Advice needed and appreciated. Cheers.

I agree and have had to learn to be prepared.

I have the fox compact and fox stalker pods. For my light fishing day sessions the compact pod is so handy. Generally I take stage stands and some inserts just in case aswel. Not long ago the screw insert on my euro buzz bars broke, coming off and being stuck in the stick rendering me in a rubbish situation. I now always take spare sticks. So in my opinion have both sticks and pod available always. U never know what swim u may end up in tracking the fish, or if the water is busy. In regard to the compact pod, great bit of kit. Small and very light. 600g if I recall. I can't see my other pod getting much daylight now

I'm over there Friday so I think I'll drop the lead size as you say and give it some welly. But I'm going to start learning about shock leaders regardless, to add to my artillery. I only started fishing properly this summer and have been doing it on my own. Aided by YouTube and google. All advice greatly appreciated 👍🏻

Haha now you've got me worried again mate, think I'll need to learn how to tie a shock leader. Fishing was all so simple as a kid 😂. But yeah in all seriousness, taking out someone with a stray lead isn't my aim. I've been fishing a swim near lodge lane salok. Only a few days. No luck but I'm not expecting anything to be honest. I found a nice drop of ledge not too far out. Pre baited it and fished it to no prevail. Anyhow I saw a few shows the last day at about 120 yards. Maybe a bit more. That's why I've been pondering my casting

Thanks fellas. I have 15lb Diawa line on a fox warrior z 3lb tc rod , So I think I'll give it a go without a shock leader for now. The water I'm fishing is vast and I'm pretty sure even if I did get a snap off it wouldn't hit the other side, I hope. Lol. I'm going to look online at casting videos before I go too. I think I'm hitting 90 yards/ish anyways, without giving it too much force. I read an old post in here during the summer about snap offs and it made me proper wary. Last thing I wanna do is take a dog walkers head off with a stray lead lol.90 yards not much I know but that really is due to me not forcing it out of fear.
