theoneandonly Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Looking to start fishing on canals for carp, just wondering where best place to go is ? Quote
stoogi Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I've got a great little place by me. It's got a hot water inlet from a factory & there's no boat traffic. If you have anywhere like this near to you it would be a good place to start. Also look near pubs. You'll often see people feeding the birdlife & carp like a free meal too. Quote
welder Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 The best day's fishing I've ever had was on a marina off the Birmingham-Fazeley Canal, in Fazeley. Most of the boats are used as permanent residences and the fish get fed frequently and become used to all manner of feed. This particular marina can only be fished from one of the moored boats but I know of others where angling is allowed. Worth a look? Ian Quote

welder Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 You're welcome. I wish you luck in your search. Let us know how you get on. Out of interest, where are you based? There may be people on here local to you who can offer more specific information than mine. Ian Quote
hopefull Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 I can think of a couple of marinas in the Midlands that are worth a crack. However, as Ian stated, some of them are off-limits to non-residents (well, kinda ... ) Quote
