ajhill Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 I'd like some advice on how you all set up the method rig. In particular how do you keep the line pinned down so as not to spook. There's lots written about leadcore and tubing but how does this work with the method? Also what about hooklinks. Most seem to have quite a short link of 2" to 6". Does this hooklink length and method reduce your catches to just carp or will tench, bream etc play? cheers Quote
carperdude3d Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 i av the korda inline method feeders and use it with leadcore and a short hooklength and ive caught millions of tench and bream on it and some decent carp as well Quote
chrisbonnie Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 you dont happen to have a decent diagram of how you set up do you, or maybe a picture of your rig im using the emthod for my first time next week and i just want to make sure im doing it correctly Quote
Malc 1950 Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 If you are going to use the method you can expect any fish in the lake to get on your bait, that is unless there are only carp present. Quote

chrisbonnie Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 cheers neil, seems simple enough, i bought ready tied hair rig hooklenghts for carping, i reckon id be able to them myself, but for the first time ill use these 1 more thing, what strenght line should i use with a method, the exact one from that picture, as i have 4 of them Quote
neilscatchin Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 Strength of what? Mainline or hooklink? If mainline whatever you use for general carp fishing is adequate.Open water 10-12lb or if snaggy step up to 15lb. Quote
chrisbonnie Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 mainline, i bought 10lb fox soft steel, just to be safe another thing, i bought rib sinking tubing as well, about how much of the should i use on the mainline, 2 inchs, 6inchs?? thanks alot Quote
neilscatchin Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 Personally I'd opt for about 2 foot to serve 2 purposes:To prevent tangles and to protect the fish's flanks from the mainline lifting scales. Quote
chrisbonnie Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 that much?? id never have guessed, ill give it a go, ive only fished for roach before this, so i need all the help on carp fishing as i can get Quote
rhabb999 Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 I'm new to the method myself, having only had two decent day sessions with it. Catching in the region of 30lb of fish, mixture of bream & carp. Got to say it's now my favoured way to fish, especially using a rod with plenty of play action. I was a bit concerned about the tight line spooking the fish, seemed to be getting a lot of line knowcks, so I placed a swanshot about 2 foot higher than the feeder to pin the line to the bottom.
