I'd like some advice on how you all set up the method rig. In particular how do you keep the line pinned down so as not to spook. There's lots written about leadcore and tubing but how does this work with the method? Also what about hooklinks. Most seem to have quite a short link of 2" to 6". Does this hooklink length and method reduce your catches to just carp or will tench, bream etc play?

cheers

1 more thing, what strenght line should i use with a method, the exact one from that picture, as i have 4 of them

I'm new to the method myself, having only had two decent day sessions with it. Catching in the region of 30lb of fish, mixture of bream & carp.

Got to say it's now my favoured way to fish, especially using a rod with plenty of play action.

I was a bit concerned about the tight line spooking the fish, seemed to be getting a lot of line knowcks, so I placed a swanshot about 2 foot higher than the feeder to pin the line to the bottom.
