  1. cheers for the replies lads, blvet is high up on the list alright, i think id rather get the ferry anyway, flying is mugs game, they seem to be dropping from the sky every other day but im ill wait until gordon has his info up on thr website before anything is set in stone oh, and roscoff will be the place ill be docking
  2. with i suppose the slightest chance of a 50 there`s 3 of us definetly going, nothing too far from calais, as im coming from Ireland on the ferry, so thats the guts of 1 day sailing already, so id rather not have to drive for a further 5+ hours if possible, a chalet, or somewhere else to have some privacy would be good, not essential, but definetly handy any help would be great lads, ive been searching all the usual carp mags, but still havent found anything too great oh, and i wont use angling lines, ive heard too many bad reports on their lakes
  3. Weston Park, there`s a syndicate on there its near the monument fishery
  4. anyone ever used it? heres the description from the nash website about Triggalink is a hi-tech, modern carp braid with an elastic core. You will see when you pull it off the spool, that it has no stretch and, like other modern carp braids, it is easy to tie your rigs to an accurate and consistent length. The magic happens when it is immersed in water. After five minutes, or so, it retracts by some 30%. Now it is loaded and ready to trigger! As soon as the carp tensions the rig it will stretch with a build up of resistance, just like a bungee elastic, and the carp now has a big problem. It can’t get rid of the rig. so, do you just tie this normally, as in a knotless, or do you have to do a combi link, i only found out about this stuff yesterday, so im still confused to how its used etc...
  5. just used quick links today for my first time, absolutly brilliant, i was set up, cast out and all in 15 minutes
  6. i use 20lb fox cotex, ive got a 15lb kryston snakebit but like it at all, its funny, the kyston, although lighter is bigger in diametre, and fairly hard(imo) to push through a hook eye twice, the fox stuff is super slim, and it hasnt pulled on me once
  7. as a matter of interest lads, what kinda shrink tubing do you use? ive only tried korda before, but it doesnt really shrink too much, and thats using the smallest one available
  8. im fairly new to the carp game, was looking at different coloured bait floss, wouldnt thread to the same job, and be a hell of alot cheaper too?
  9. that much?? id never have guessed, ill give it a go, ive only fished for roach before this, so i need all the help on carp fishing as i can get
  10. mainline, i bought 10lb fox soft steel, just to be safe another thing, i bought rib sinking tubing as well, about how much of the should i use on the mainline, 2 inchs, 6inchs?? thanks alot
  11. cheers neil, seems simple enough, i bought ready tied hair rig hooklenghts for carping, i reckon id be able to them myself, but for the first time ill use these 1 more thing, what strenght line should i use with a method, the exact one from that picture, as i have 4 of them
  12. you dont happen to have a decent diagram of how you set up do you, or maybe a picture of your rig im using the emthod for my first time next week and i just want to make sure im doing it correctly
  13. so when crimping you need a certain line, otherwise it damages it, i didnt know that, cheers for the info lads
  14. hiya lads just came across this forum as im going carping for my first time in 2 weeks, ive been general corse fishing for the last 3 months now, but want to start catching something a little bigger, anyway, enough rambling i was reading a book on different rigs for carp and i came across crimping, which ive never seen, personally, ill be fishing the method feeder, as i heard this tactic works well on the lake ill be fishing, so would i be best crimping my connections instead of just tying a standard rapala knot, is crimping stronger, quicker, and basically, alot handier than tying knots? any help would be great
