ukthirtyhunter Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Hello All, I have been carp fishing a while now and have been to France on a couple of socials. My angling club has alot of small carp and you have to wade through them to get to the bigger ones. So mainly to get a chance of catching a bigger carp I am having to venture further affield from Essex. I have had a couple of good results from Catch 22 with a 22lber and my UK Pb of 27lb. But these are the only two twenties I have caught and I would like to catch more. I have just come back from a blank at Cobbleacre and saw not one fish come out when I was there!! I have just found out about Willow lake I was hopeing to phone up and book myself on. I would be greatful if anyone can share some wisdom with me on the lake to hopefully point me in the right direction to get a few twenties in the net, SATN you said you had advice can you share?? Anyone for that matter.... Quote
satn Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 ok mate no problem what exactly do you want to know eg bait, weed, depth, rigs Quote
beanz Posted September 14, 2009 Author Report Posted September 14, 2009 ok mate no problem what exactly do you want to know eg bait, weed, depth, rigs do they follow the wind what features are the in the lake ? any bars ,plateaus gullies. what sort of depths does it go to and is it standard or one end/side shallow/deep really il take any thing your prepared to share , im not worried about what rig and bait just the lake and how the fish act, lots of bait/ singles spodding or not any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Quote
satn Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 The fish do follow a new wind when the lake is quiet but angling pressure usually dictates where the fish will be , willow see,s alot of bait so dont put to much out and use bottom baits or you will hear the carp laughing at ya, The depth is 7-10ft all over and generally featureless but with a nice amount of weed which gives you something to fish too. Hope this is info your looking for good luck mate, any more info needed let me know I have no secrets Quote
