lee_s_young
Hi Gobstopper, My Brother lives a bit further north, in Borlange. I'll ask him, but I don't think that Carp fishing is very big in Sweden. I know some private lakes have been stocked with Carp, and I think some of them were in Skane, so I'll get him to ask around. syltfinger
This is maybe a bit late but if you still are interested anyway, im from Sweden and i have been fishing carp all arround in sweden and its not anything like the fishing that you have over there in england, been there too, the fishing in sweden is a bit moore difficult and thats mostly because the lakes are bigger and it isnt that much carp in them. But the fishes in sweden are in a very good condition and most of the fishes havent been catched before. I wouldent recomend people to go too sweden for carpfishing besides Skåne, because it in the absolute south of sweden and the weather isnt the same there, and skåne is full of carp lakes and ponds, in fact almost every lake and pond there is carp, and some of the top lakes are Bysjön in Lund and Henrikstorpssjön & svenstorpssjön in perstorp, but the absolut top water in sweden is Tegelbruksdammen in Lund where the Swedish carp record has been taken recently on over 40 lb http://www.prologicfishing.com/viewnews.asp?newsId=239 and i think that they have caughted 4 carps over 40 lb there only this year, unfortunately is tegelbruksdammen a cyndicate water. But the swedish caping is something worth trying. and if i have missed something you can always ask

I would be deeply grateful for any additional information on the amount and locations of any waters where carp are present in sweden. i have been leed to believe that carp find it hard to survive in the extreme temperatures in most parts of sweden but they do exist in the south and surrounding areas. i have a thousand and one questions about availability of bait and specialist carp tackle in sweden and other such vital subjacts. If you or anyone you know has any info at all please contact me at your convienience as i would be very greatful. cheers and tight lines, jack

craigsweden
I live just outside of Borås. If you live close by maybe we could go fishing somewhere in between.
sgart
Ok in Borås you have the lake Ballasjön quite near. Ballasjön is quite a popular lake stocked with fish up to 35 lbs. I actually took my first carp there when I first began carping. (nowhere near 35lbs though )Location and the phone number to Leif which owns the license on the lake http://svenskakarpklubben.com If im correct I believe the license for Ballasjön actually comes for free as member of Svenska Karpklubben. Several brits in the club as well. I live 30+ miles away from Borås unfortuneately.
sgart
If you are on facebook the lake has its own group https://www.facebook.com/groups/228490307186093/?fref=ts
sgart
Allmost forgot. There is also this little old gem. The dude owning the site is a brit who lived in sweden until just some years ago when I heard he moved back but he did fish a lot when he lived here and the site is still quite informative. Some of the facts regarding the sizes and such may not be fully up to date but its a good list and written in english. http://carpoholik.tripod.com/id15.html

Woodywouldnot
I just started course fishing in a lake just outside Linköping. It's called Svinstadsjön near Bankekinde which is a very dirty lake. There's lots of Bream and Roach etc and some decent sized Zander by all accounts. I go with float and method feeder with decent amounts for bream, roach etc. I've seen some decent sized carp sunning themselves and managed to connect with a very decent fish last week but sadly after a long battle on very light line it broke off. I will now concentrate on the carp although i'm a complete novice. Just put in a huge order to the Karp butik. Should be fun!
Martii83
It's really great news that there are carps here near Linköping. I managed to find 3 interesting places. I would love to go with someone for a few days of fishing. I would be happy to exchange experiences with someone else.
