Hi All

A group of us are off to Lake Beauregard later this year and I was wondering if anybody knew how it was fishing recently? I was sure there was a thread on the forum a little while ago but can't seem to find it anymore. Tried the search but no results.

Thanks for any help. PM if prefered.

Cheers

Matt :D

me and 3 of my mates fished it on june the 3rd, it is a beutiful lake with excellent faciltys, the fishing was very hard, infact the 2 lads fishing the facility side of the lake actually blanked. me and the lad who fished the other side of the lake caught 2 cats 3 mirrors and 2 commons between us.

the fish seem to hide under the over hanging trees, and we had to baitboat our rigs to the far banks, actually going under the trees to drop our baits, this lake is unfishable without a baitboat, not because of the distance, but because casting is so restricted by the amount of trees, it took us until wednesday before we seemed to come up with a way of getting them to feed, as they were ignoring everything we offered them. then out of desperation i concocted a method feeder mixed from trout pellets, maize, catmeat, and a few mixed seeds. i started wrapping a ball of this mix round a source boilie with the boilie and hook inside, and bait boating this out to the far bank and dropping it under the tree's this seemed to do the trick,(for me anyway), pity it took me til the wednesday to try it.

We returned from Beauregard Saturday the 18th of July and I can tell you we had a great time. We caught 13 fish between the 3 of us between 17lb and 41lb and lost quite a lot as well. The lake is fantastic as are the facilities. We only caught 1 poisson chat and had no problems with them taking our baits either. There are small pockets of weed but nothing to affect the fishing. What i would say however is take plenty of ant powder and mozzie sprays as we got eaten alive ( hey this can happen anywhere ). The owners are friendly enough and called down the lake every couple of days to make sure everything was ok. The pegs have been trimmed back so there isnt any problems casting. Boats area must as we took all our fish from the far margins. Took most of fish when the weather was overcast as when the hot weather arrived it seemed to knock the fish off. Maize is definately the bait to be on.
