neil69 Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 The majority of the lakes and puddles I fish are have a pretty silty base (Sussex sludge??), you guys are the experts, in your experience whats the best material, brand to use??? (Most fish low/mid doubles to low 20's) Quote
salokcinnodrog Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 I use Braid for most of my Fishing. Either Coated Kryston or Ordinary Kryston Braids. My Favourite on any bottom is either Merlin or Mantis Gold. Quote
pezza Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Black Stealth looks a good one for silt, although I've not used it as yet. Quote
salokcinnodrog Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Oh and not forgetting Supersilk. It is bright white out of the Packet, but takes on the Colour of the Lakebed within minutes. Quote

I was using esp strip teaz today, and that allso done that. I have to agree with you on the mantis gold tho, quality hook link. Quote
trees Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 'Wychwood Deception Silt' is great for silty venues, and quite reasonably priced, compared to Kryston etc..., although at my venue the silt is so deep I have to use Helicopter Rigs with short stiff flurocarbon hookling most of the time. Quote
ian23 Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 The wychwood deception silt is great imo, have no doubts with it at all:) Quote
mick1396 Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Oh and not forgetting Supersilk. It is bright white out of the Packet, but takes on the Colour of the Lakebed within minutes. Multistrand is good for that too. Quote
tim_2812 Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 black stealth is very good for silt as it is black in colouration. Quote
