carperdude3d Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 ive read alot about rigs and shrink tubing i was going to give it a go. any thoughts on it Quote
courtz Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 i use it on most of my rigs fishing on the bottom it helps the hook to turn. i prefer to shrink it in boiling water, as this is cooler than steam, and if you're using mono or flourocarbon won't weaken the link as much. Braid can be used with steam, as it isn't weakened too much Quote

courtz Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 most braids should work if you're not lookinh for a hybrid/coated braid i highly recommned ESP sinklink as i have had others drift off the lakebed tight lines courtz Quote
salokcinnodrog Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 cheers are they all as good or should i use a specific brand Fox, and Carp-R-us Shrink Tube are the best 2 I have found. Quote
courtz Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 sorry mate i thought you were asking about the braid i use fox as most tackle shops sell them and have got on well with it tight lines courtz Quote
dixons Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 im using the e.s.p shrink tubing, shrinks down very well on most sizes of hook and is quite cheap:D And as i dont shrink tubing on mono/flurocarbon presentations, i just use the steam from the kettle (when doing this use forceps or pliers to hold the hook or your fingers get burnt:( ) Tom Quote
