chris_the_carper Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Has any one tried using wire cutters to strip coated braid? if so any good? Quote
carpoholic Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 You will only damage the braid. Just warm the outer skin in hot water to soften it if you need to. I never need to do it that way, just use your teeth to strip it. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 i use stealth skin or the new esp striptease both of these are easy to strip by hand. If its something like hybrid then i soak it in warm water to soften it. Quote
salokcinnodrog Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I use my thumb nail to strip coated braid. If I want to stripe it I use a Waterproof Marker Pen. :D Quote

It`s just a braid hookling material that has an outer polymer coating on it that can be left on for stiff rigs or stripped back at various lengths for different rig presentation.i.e 1 3rd stripped back and 2 3rds left on will give you a simple combi rig. If left unstripped it will act like a nylon hooklink. Quote

It is ok Mick1396, i do not mind a bit of mocking, i had the same when i started fly fishing. My father has some waters and have them for fly fishing, one has some carp which no one has caught, so i thought maybe it was time to try something different. Thank you for your help. Quote
