terrybyatt Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I was reading one of the carp mags and the writer said he was using a "chod rig" does anyone know about this rig, like how to tie it and when to use it, hook size and what bait to use. thanks terry Quote
tonybranno Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Its another name for an helicopter rig. But dont use it just cos its new and in vogue! If you are fishing over weed or silt then i would strongly recommended it but if you fish over hard clear or even gravel patches then stick to the normal in line or pendant lead arrangement! Quote
courtz Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 it's a helicopter rig, but with the swivel and attatching beads about 1ft away from the lead on the leader. it's good for fishing into silt on leaf debris Quote
dixons Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Its setup is basically the same as a helicopter rig but like courtz sed the first bead is as far up the leadcore/tubing as you think the weed/silt is off the bottom, its perfect for day sesions when you are unsure on whats on the bottom and dont want to drag a marker float through the swim. as for the rigs use the same ones asif you were fishing the helicopter Tom Quote
delkimtxi Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 it's a helicopter rig, but with the swivel and attatching beads about 1ft away from the lead on the leader. it's good for fishing into silt on leaf debris the hook link can be as near or far away from the lead as you need it .you can fish it right up the leader if your fishing in deep weed .the hook link is generally 3-5 inchs long when fishing pop ups the hooklink must have a curve ,the curve is important as this helps the hook spin around and catch hold of the bottom lip from what ever angle the fish approches at hope this helps Quote
