methodboy Posted May 5, 2009 Author Report Posted May 5, 2009 just got back from there mate.. chill had a good week .. had 4. 30s 6. 20s lots of 17s 18s 19s did great on maize .. placed 3 rods close to far bank. dont put loads of bait in it atracts the catfish my mate had a 46 and 47lbder. yuck. i used my baitboat with about 50 grains of maize around each hookbait worked a treat. if u aint got a baitboat u can hire a boat off the owner and row across to far bank its only £5 a day.. we hired one it gives u a reel advantage. oh i also lost some big fish aswell so i could have caught more . hope this helps. andy Quote
ralphj Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 What was the average stamp of the fish you caught and what was the biggest, Carp that is not cats. Quote
jeff26 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Two of us have just come back from Neuilly. Only caught 4 carp, biggest 24.75 lb, with 16 catfish caught and about 10 bitting us off! Total weight of fish caught was 478 lb, 376 lb of which were catfish. The two guys and one boy up the bank also caught just 4 carp and a lot of catfish. Cats were taking sweet, fishy and meat baits. Have been for last 4 yrs, last year we only caught 1 carp at 33 lb. Will not be going back. Quote

courtneyfish Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Just returned from a fantastic trip. Landed over 80 fish, commons, mirrors and some monster grassies. Nearly 30 over 30, best fish a stunning 50.08 (to my 11 year old, lucky so and so) The big fish are definately not dead. I fished there last year and saw one of the local lads catch 2 x 40 and a 58 common in one night. This year one of the other locals showed me a pic of the lake record, a 61 mirror caught September 08. The owners are lovely people and very concerned to make sure everyone has a good time. It is well worth listening to Didier, his advice did me proud. He was telling me that he does stock the lake every year with a top-up of 20s. None of his big fish have died and there now over 1000 carp in 25 acres. All the fish come from his own stock ponds and he has been breeding fish since Bill and Ben were seeds, so he has no need to buy in and spoil the strain. The fish are in fantastic condition and the 20s especially fight like hell. I don't know why that is but they give a better account than the 40s and the 50 we caught. 20 and 30 yard runs and a scrap last lasts forever. I found it quite easy to avoid the cats, by steering clear of fishmeal, meat and oils. Particles work well and fruit flavours. Absolutely brilliant place. Can't wait to go back and would recommend anyone to give it a go. Quote
