Guest Anonymous Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 most of my fishing so far has been done using lead core but I am thinking of going over to rig tubing my question is how do you get a braided mainline through about 2 foot of tube, as braid being a lot softer than mono just folds up any help much apreciated Graham Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 Diamond eye laccy threader, used for threading elastic through pole sections;) Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 I just thread line through it,then loop braid onto that and pull through. Quote
Guest grint Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 go in to your local music shop and buy a 0.10 guage steel guitar string (less than a £1) carefull bend the end over so its flatish against itself and use this to thread through the braid easy !! ;) or use mono through first then use that as a threader to pull the braid through Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 thanks lads, some good idea's there I knew I could rely on you lot to come up with something Graham Quote
london_geeza Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 I just thread line through it,then loop braid onto that and pull through. yep thats how i do it, i find thin black amnesia is up to the job. Quote
mvodkaman Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 a simple piece of 15lb mono pushed thro first tie a loop then pull braid back thro job done. Quote
jungle_bum80 Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 If the tubing is new you can simply suck it through, i know it sounds daft but try it. Make sure the braid that you are pulling through is slack. I use the esp anchor tubing, it stays coiled when taken from packaging but simply run your fingers over it until it straitens. you all think im mad now don't you:p Quote
lebigboss Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 either as mvodkaman said thread mono through first or use some thin wire used in the garden to get your braid through the tube. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 You need one of these mate:D Quote
whitefinger Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 7 strand wire used for making pike traces is also good for this job:D Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 the likes of steve briggs and simon crow already have mono atatched to there braided mainline. Quote

carpoholic Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 the likes of steve briggs and simon crow already have mono atatched to there braided mainline. I have been using braid for 11 years and have always put a mono shock leader on as it gives you a bit of stretch under the rod tip. Quote
