sounds about right mate Spot on!! there are only around 6 hook manufactors, mostly in japan (know for their decent steel) just a different packet and some are coated some not, some have a slighty diffent bend or in/out turned eye. Go for a hook of around 0.90mm thickness gauge, a lot are around 0.80mm-0.85mm. a wide gape hook will open quicker than a standard gape due to the pressure on the tip being futher from the shank. also a long shank will open quicker than a short shank as the pressure on the eye will be greater! Owner's steel is awesome, they also make the best pike hooks and the best fishing scissors money can buy

Yes and no... ive had a bad spool that kept snapping at the over hand loop, well i phone korda they said only pull the knot tight over steam. the new spool ive got at the mo, is fab, no problems at all. yet again my mate took x2 spools to france this summer, he made about 20 rigs pre tied before he got there, and lost 2 decent fish due to it snapping an inch under the over hand loop. the rest of the spools got slung in the bin. i think there is a major problem with this stuff and defo wont be buying any more does the pallatrax stuff steam as stiff as the hybriad??

yes mate leadcore, its maxamia(sorry im *************** at spelling) mono and it has lots of mermory. maybe its just crap line, maybe im just crap!

been trying some mono hook lengths of late, and why when i bring them in its all wrapped around the lead? normally use hybraid streamed, but thought id try some mono.

anyone know how you would tie a swivel hook?? i saw the carp r us range in the shop and some had the swivel fixed to the eye of the hook! its ment to be a 360 anti eject type of rig? cheers guys

ok just done a search....(im soooo lasy) so its quite simple BUT do you make the whole hooklength that long? i.e is the lake was 10ft deep you would have say the hooklenght 9.5ft long:confused: so would you make a 9.5ft hooklength out of say korda IQ or hybaid?? cheers

not the hair on your head! the hair from the bottom of the hook to attach the bait, what sort of hair length do you lot use?? my mate makes his hair rigs so the boillie is right tight under the hook, is the right way or should there be a longer hair? also anyone know what the hooking diffence would be between a long hair and a short hair? cheers Mark
