There is weight, you have you rubber shock beads on the core sideways so they are tight. you put them on with the baiting needle/splicing needle. This then gives the weight. The fish pulls one way the lead is the weight and if it goes the other the drag is the weight.

 

they have to suit the bottom and situation. although this time of year i would go more for a stiff rig boom and hlicoptor as i find the presentation of "chod" is not too great unless in the weed. the heli is motre of and alrounder and i would say better now the weed is dying back.

yeh i hav had success a 43lb common and i have had problems hooking the fish when i first used the rig but what i find helps is to let the fish run a bit longer than normal to make sure. and also the carp gets confused and the run is'nt fast but just beeps on the alarm but watch the indicator hope this hepls you mate. Tight lines
