chris_rowland2005 Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Has anyone fished the blue pool recently. Any advice of tips would be great. Thanks for any replies Quote
steve1980 Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 big tip:- don't go it's pants my mate went 5 times last year and blanked every time i went twice and never had so much as a line bite Quote
craig_banks Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 I thought it was quite a nice place and certainly looked to be full of carp... A friend and I went down for a bit of a social session in July. Fished near the car park (swims 3 & 4 I think) and we had a few. 18 carp between us if I remember rightly. We lost some due to hook-pulls and weed. 3 over 20lb, the rest were doubles. Most were caught over spod mix at 50 yards. I had a couple off the top, but they were pretty cagey. Here's me with the biggest of the trip, 24lb 1oz... Quote
Malc 1950 Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Steve just because you didn't do any good there it doesn't necessarily mean the water is pants.Obviously Carp in there. Nice fish Craig, well done. Quote
craig_banks Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Thanks mach3. I would recommend the water to anyone looking to have a good time in pleasant surroundings on a lake full of carp. The weed could make presentation and landing the fish a little tricky but that comes with many lakes nowadays. Quote

crappercarper Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 look on the cemex sight. you hire it out for 24 hours at a time so best bet is to get a few of ya mates together and spilt the cost. its under day ticket waters on the cemex sight. Quote
johnplumb Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Fished it for many years now and personally i love the place , it once had the reputation of being a runs water but since the exclusive booking system and the removal of some 150 fish this is no longer true. I feel that a lot of groups rock up chuck out and and can't understand why they don't catch The worst example i saw of this last year was 10 guys 48 hrs 2 fish . If there a 10 of you going get away from the crowds i know this is hard sometimes but it depends what you want fish or a social. Don't pile the bait in ,pick a spot that is hard to fish to if it takes you 6 casts to get there then so be it position is everything and can often make the difference between a fish or not., and believe me the difference in fishing 3 ft in front of a tree line and fishing 3 ft under a tree line will make a difference . Bait , they have seen and eaten everything personally i favor red or yellow baits my mate dark baits we both catch .The far bank slopes off quickly don't be afraid to fish 1 or 2 rod lengths out the fish travel along there all day . How many of you going and when ? good luck. Quote
johnplumb Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Sorry , nice fish Criag glad you enjoyed your visit . Quote
