london_geeza Posted October 2, 2005 Report Share Posted October 2, 2005 3" - 4" hairs are normal for me when using bottom baits and braided hooklength. 1" - 2" are normal for mewhen fishing mono hooklength. and a very short hair when fishing pop ups. Unless you understand why you are using a particular Rig then ou are going to get caught out when it gets sussed by The Carp.
