Adam de Gurdon
As the cost of fly fishing has escalated in the last few years I decided to do a bit of coarse fishing. Floating crust is a great way to fish on my local Claygate Lakes but getting the crust to the far side of the water was tricky so I now squeeze the soft bit of the crust on the hook and cast it just like a fly. Apart from catching those damned Alder trees it works well. I probably only successfully hook one in ten takes, though. I have tried the 'carp flies' imitating bread and dog biscuit but the fish are too wary for that sort of rubbish! kevtaylor
