beerbattered
I am not sure what is supposed to happen where the lead is connected to the main line on a helicopter rig. In the diagram, there shows a neoprene sleave (glued) ahead of the lead and a bead ahead of the sleave. Is the function to release the lead in the event of a snag? If not, what is their function? charlieg
no mate in the event of break off the hooklink will slide off the leadcore/leader/tubing. The lead will be attached depending on your leader type set up. with tubing it can be tied to the mainline. with leadcore it can be attached by a quick link that is spliced to the end (same will apply to a leader) The sleeve just neatens the whole set-up and stops the hook catching on the quick link.
