Biffa44
My lake is bringing in New rules moving to a smaller 1.5 test curve allowance for all rods as I'm quite new to fishing and haven't gone this low before any recommendations carp sizes I've caught before between 5/15 lb average
Biffa44
My understanding is new rules brought to stop exactly that problem I'm almost exclusively a carp Fisher and am after a poke in the right direction of what to look out for in the lower ratio of test curve rod and rig
harpz_31
like carpmachine (good job I checked my spelling i nearly called you crapmachine) said an avon rod would be great for your needs I would recommend trying a few out as the actions from rod to rod can be extremely different
salokcinnodrog
I agree, the 1 1/2lb test curve is a sensible option. Look at Barbel rods, my current rod for exactly that purpose and a few others is a Shakespeare Agility Barbel rod. The first fish I played on it was a double figure carp caught on a floating dog biscuit, but I also use it for ledgering with leads up to 2oz, for swimfeeder fishing for bream and roach as well as carp. carpmachine
