sampo
Evening I'm going to call the guys at RH tomorrow and book a 36 hour session at the monument. Just looking for some advice on how to approach it and what tactics to employ. Would you advise a large amount of bait, or just keep the freebies down and send out a solid bag? Lastly, is there a waiting list for this place? Cheers Joe
sharpy86
Advise? Avoid. Never fished the place, but from reports, is an overstocked muddy puddle, stuff with simmos.
Carpbell
Sixty quid for a days fishing? They advertise 36 hours, but that extra 12 hours would other wise be an empty swim anyway, they could never do a 24 hour turn-over as anglers would be bumping into each other on the turn around, I’d be taking the net and mat they supply home for that money.I'd go Linears mate, half the price and no silly bait bans. spriggy
Hi Guys, yes I did re-mortgage my bivvy, £60.00 for 36hrs. Monday, Tuesday 17th and 18th February. fished maggots and got no joy, fished boilies and particles. no joy. cell and sticky no good 7 on the lake and holds 15 pegs. 2 fish out 20lber and a 39lb. peg 13 14 I think. 1 for each angler everyone else didn't have a bite or run. was nice conditions and not too cold. fish activity was minimal and not really showing. I WAS CRYING OUT TO FISH ZIGS BUT THEY ARE BANNED WILL FISH MASSIVE BUNCHES OF LOBWORMS WHEN I RETURN IN THE SUMMER the place is very clean and well maintained. need to update the website as no quad bike as suggested so had to carry my gear around. peg 1 only if your disabled. I like the idea of using site nets and slings. also buckets on the peg for watering the fish and testing the pop ups etc. pegs are gravel and well made. other anglers were good to talk to. didn't get much response from the bailiff. only asked if I caught so he could take pictures and promote the venue etc. loads of blue dye in the lake so I guess weed killer? would go again but not for that price as didn't give me anything different. should have a free quad service for that price, £3.00 for bacon and egg sarnie. if you go, fish your normal tactics and be confident. don't change your methods or baits for the lake. if the fish are having it they will. many thanks Lee Edited November 20, 2014 by spriggy
