Stiff link material/fluorocarbon

Recommendations for something easy to use/knot please. I've been using esp ghost but struggle to produce nice neat small loops.(although I haven't had a knot go on a fish (but I do reject some rigs if I'm not happy with them)

 

At the stage of considering crimping with the wychwood kit.

 

Any suggestions or advice would be greatfully recieved.

That's the fella I use although obviously the higher bs it becomes slightly trickier and more awkward to tie.I use the softer fluoros for hooklinks and don't have any problems using Gardner Subterfuge Super Soft in 15lb.

Cheers Neil, that is the knot I've started using and have no probs with softer hooklinks (riverge ) but it's stiffer stuff I'm struggling with.

 

Could be whinging about the problem everybody has.

It knots well, and also has a bit of stretch, unlike most Fluorocarbons.

 

I nearly always use a Uni Knot on it, although it does take the Loop Knot well at the swivel end

i am using the wychwwod crimps as i am finding it hard to get nice neat knots on mono/flouro etc find the joints are strong and neat too. Never had a crimp fail on me yet and i also put a small bit of shrink tubing over the crimp just my preference.

blankerd, are you using the wychwood stifflink material or just the crimps with something else ? I was under the inpression that fluoro didn't take kindly to crimping but mono was okay ?

If it's a loop to your swivel or Korda clip just use a simple figure of eight knot............simple, neat and reliable.

It's a weaker knot than the one shown above and you can get smaller loops.

I use the wychwood stiff link and amnesia for my rigs using crimps. You need to use double crimps as they are designed for mono/flouro. They use crimps sea angling when making rigs and they never failed and they catch massive fish.
