I took my Girlfriend to Stanborogh at welwyn garden city, and she was pleased with the facilities! I'd like to keep this momentum going with somewhere closer! (It doesn't have to be a specimen carp lake) I'm new to town and based at Wood Green, I have heard you can fish Ali Pali, any comments on this? wookiejedi Posted August 28, 2013 Report Share Posted August 28, 2013 Hi there, I grew up in Wood Green and started my fishing at Ally Pally. Haven't fished it in over 20 years. You could try Walthamstow reservoirs, Ferry Lane. There is also Boxers Lake in Oakwood but they don't have toilets near alto there is a Sainsbury's about 10 min walk away. This is a great place to take your girlfriend as it has toilets and is a very pleasant place to fish. The guys in the tackle shop are really friendly and helpful.
