I've had a look around and it seems that the palomar knot is a popular choice for fluorocarbon. If I use this knot to attach my hook how do you attach a ring for the bait or in my case a bore ring to the hook? Also what are peoples favourite loop knot for flouro as well?

Not sure it would work for a 'D' rig as you've already doubled up the line to tie the knot so having room for a third through the eye seems unlikely and it'll sit wrong with the knot below the shank.

Have a look at the snell knot, does'nt use the eye like a knotless and it'll put the 'D' where you need it

I like the knot but I am obviously being thick here because I still don't understand how to put the D in?

It'll leave you a hair/tag that will go down the eye for the D, tie one, you'll see how easy it is
