rivieres
nice of you to not beat about the bush chap i know money talks and know anglers are surcumming to greed but i only fish the public waters and rivers and as ihave read here not many do that because they want to catch while on holiday but its just like fishing an english water with bigger fish . any way thefrench have been mumbling about pollution i cannot see tha t all the lumps have been removed from the seine with in a couple of years . i just wondered if any one had heard the same or something else . i am going to move on to a diff river next year but will be back on the seine as well because there is nothing to rival the anticipation of a session on this great river . dondoncarp
Hiya mate, was layed up on a ship at rouen for 2 months in the spring, now back there for the winter,i fish for around 3hrs a day on average, and different states of the tide, ive had no carp, plenty of eels, but seen quite a few carp float pass dead, ive hooked the odd bream, and seen one dead catfish. The river in my opinion is in a disgusting sorry state, bit like the thames used to be,plenty of sewage slicks...not nice. I shall persevre for the carp just because i`m there, but it wouldn`t be my choice to go and fish the place, hope this helps

bigaldo
You could spend the rest of your life fishing the Soane. I can recommend the following areas: - 1. Glannon, night fshing zone. This is a beautiful part of the river. Lots of fish with the odd biggie. Not too many Cats also. 2. Verdun sur le Doubs. Campsite, river starting to get big here. Lots of carp plus lots of biggies if you get lucky. Lots of Cats and some cracking zander to over 20lbs, my mate had a 20 1/4lb zander!!!! 3. Chalon sur Soane. Lots of everything. Very popular with the french carpers. I was at an Enduro fished on the town stretch in 2005 and the number and size of fish that were caught were amazing.
