Cheers You must mean the Gardner float? Not Korda? If thats what you mean, I would guess u can (and should) use thicker line than most use during normal floater fishing since its simply just not necessary to use a thin line for descretion. If the carp cant see the line and all you might as well go safe and take a stronger line, in my oppinion. Ive never tried them myself so havent tested the matter. However From what I can see on pictures I am quite curious myself wether the design of the float itself might as well spook fish or make them uncomfy enough to not take the bait. snowmanstevo Posted June 18, 2011 Report Share Posted June 18, 2011 I use to catch loads of match carp on my pole using the same method its know as dapping and even the most wiley carp would fall to this presentation. A venue i fish is ace for floater fishing but the bigger carp would circle the freebies and if they felt any line around the bait they would spook big time With a bait resting on top they would hook up every time and take the bait very confidently I think i might just invest in one of them floats because its basically the same method Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

angler_ali Posted July 3, 2011 Report Share Posted July 3, 2011 A little off topic but since last one year, I am trying to target some serious big carp (Catla catla _India) from near surface. I am using a suspended method feeder with a trailer hook. Fishes are coming and eating (Actually sucking the cloud created by the feeder mix) but the hook up percentage is very poor. Except a 22 lbrs and some small fishes, I am always drawing a blank. The fish in question is a plankton eater. My complete setup is perfect except the hook presentation.
