gaskilm Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 Hi there, What is the best knot for shockleaders that created the smallest knot join for long range fishing ??. Does the same knots apply between braid to mono as mono to mono shockleaders ??. Thanks. Quote
neilscatchin Posted January 4, 2007 Report Posted January 4, 2007 The knot pictured here: https://forum.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=23956 Quote
tonybranno Posted January 4, 2007 Report Posted January 4, 2007 I use this one and it flys through the rings when the knot beds down properly..... Quote
slinger Posted January 4, 2007 Report Posted January 4, 2007 As Tony states, the blood knot is possibly the best knot to use, but you could also try the Albright knot as well. *covering the knot with shrink tubing is personal preference, but glueing it also helps. Quote
salokcinnodrog Posted January 4, 2007 Report Posted January 4, 2007 http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n283/nick27g/knot.gif Is the pic thats on the link that Neil put up. It works on Braid to mono as well as Mono to Mono. I don't like the Blood Knot on Leaders as not all lines take it very well. If you have 2 lines of a similar diameter then the Water Knot is good. Not sure if I have a pic handy, will look and try to put one up later Make sure you always get the knot to the back of the spool. This reduces the possibility of Crack-offs and the Knot catching the line and cutting down distance Quote
gaskilm Posted January 4, 2007 Author Report Posted January 4, 2007 Many thanks all - I am not the best at knots so will practise before I go fishing..... Cheers. Quote
