    Im at samaur on holiday, ive fished 3 nights now from 7 to 11pm and not a bite, Was in fast water so I hav found a still part of the river bout 4-5 ft deep, fished 2 rods, 1 with half a smelt, 1 with squid, still nothing, the only thing I have not tried is early morning, so im gunna pre bait tonight and get up at 3. Does anyone have any tips coz I cud really use some, I basically hav 1 chance left as tomorrow is my last day.

    The last time I went I only fished stocked lakes, this time I'm right at the side of the loire river in the loire valley at saumur, im hoping this is my chance to bag a massive river cat or carp, thats how I ended up joining this forum

    Hi guys I'm Luke, 27, been fishing since I was 10, mainly a barbel angler on the river but fish still waters when the river is closed or in flood and when taking other people. Been to France once before to soissons near Paris, caught some stonking sturgeon and carp, now I'm going to Saumur in July with kids and i am in need of some helpfull advice so that I'm up to speed when I go
