Hi Mate. Try the Ouse directly behind the Woolpack complex in Godmanchester or the Ouse at Brampton near the railway bridge. Numerous carp to in excess of 30lb. Problem is keeping the bream etc off your bait. Good hunting

Totaly agree with Pippa. People make a living from carping and have to justify their existance by inventing the most over complicated rigs imaginable which, in turn, sells the monthly mags which brainwash most readers in to believing that unless they use the rig of the month they wont put a lump on the bank. Keeeep it simple, the most important thing is to locate your prize and gain a good knowledge of the best spot/s to present your bait and forget the fancy rigs, a basic hair presentation works for me

Anyone fishing Monks Pit near Huntington? Fished it when Mick Richardson opened the fishery, in fact, caught the first ever fish on opening day. What about the 'Sherrif'? my old boy caught it from Micks lake near Ongar at 25lb, must be doing 50 + now!!. Spose Symo's fish are now 2 foot long and 3 feet deep lol. Any news appreciated.
