  1. I Have stayed there a few times havent had much out to be honest, A few carp to mid doubles on the little "specimen" lake. Mind you the father in-law had a 3lb 1oz roach out of that lake back in 2008
  2. Get there early and try and get the swims nearest the end with the boats! It is deffo the most productive part of the lake. Fish pva bags to one spot build up a bed as no spodding allowed, i tend to use big baits to try and avoid the bream, But speak to Gerald the baliff he we let you know what baits working well ect. And DON'T forget plenty of change as tickets are purchased along with car park tickets from a ticket machine tha takes coins only
  3. Ive always used this knot once you get the hang of it comes out perfick.. Also the line passes through the eye only twice rather than three times on the knotless knot syle of doing it... so it works with smaller eyed hooks
  4. If your just fishing the day the give stanborough lake a go. I have had some good carp to low to mid 20 and have caught up to 18 or so carp in a day all doubles so not a bad shout Theres always Holwell Hyde if you want to do a night or so BUT...... you will find one or two nice carp in there but most are like mutants due to bad fish care. But you will catch a lot of double figure carp....
  5. Well it's pretty clear so keep your eyes open does'nt take long to locate them and find there usual routes. Alot of people try to fish to the islands I tend to stay away from them, youll deffo find them on the wind though there. You will deffo catch them in the margins but keep well back they spook very easy there. I have had some good fish out of there using simple methods they can be very picky hookbait wise, small hookbaits have worked well as has the Cell will work, but id go for something different to get the edge! I used shellfish sense appeal boilies in 17mm a few weeks ago to great effect Hope that helps cheers, Mark
  6. I fished it a few times in the summer early autum, saw a few carp! didnt catch any mind to many bloody crays!! although if you persevere can catch some nice chub and barbel. more chance of the carp further down towards carthagena wier Or if your really lucky.............. hook something winding in it looks like a dead baby, but luckily it was a dead cat with no fur.
