  1. research commencing, thanks kenook..
  2. hello all. i'd like peoples opinions..myself and 2 friends will have one week long go at somewhere this year (amongst shorter local trips). i'd like to know where people would advise? we would like somewhere that has some history ideally, some pretty fish and will keep us interested for the week (so i'm thinking a large water). i'm pretty clued up on my local waters but as we'll make a week of it were open to travelling anywhere in england really and my knowledge is a bit limited past norfolk!. cheers for any advice.
  3. i'm thinking of a big fella with a 4x4. sorry but the over booking is onforgiveable in my eyes
  4. sorry, i meant only 2 swims available when 3 of us had booked in advance!
  5. i would say avoid it like the plague. me and a couple of mates booked to go last summer. we got there and walked round the lake to find there was only 3 swins available when the 3 of us had booked well in advance! on top of that the lakes very small, there's campers with kids running around everywhere and the owners got an attitude problem. i'd do what we did and go somewhere else! there's much better places nearby.
  6. also, i usually find using dog biscuits on a hook ring with occasional free offerings to be even more productive
  7. i love it, fake bread is often the way if you have to cast a bit of a distance, i'd just advise to use a fairly small hook and look for the line tightening as bite indictaion. alternatively you could use a float but your way just freeling is more fun
  8. i've fished a few times and its a really nice looking little lake but can be quite tricky...and the cows are a bit mardy
  9. hello all, i'm interested in fishing for well known or 'interesting' fish in the norfolk area, i'd like any infirmation people have as to what fish there are in these parts and where they live? cheers
  10. a question for norfolk anglers, where do people consider to be the best venue in norfolk? taking into account the surroundings, the way its run, cost, and most importantly the fish.???
  11. excellent, cheers. i've done a few of them on 72hr sessions, taverham, taswood and done ok. what i really want is somewhere i can buy a years ticket for that is within about 30mins drive of kings lynn (pe30), picky i know! that way when the days are longer i'd like to be able to have night sessions down there and get back for work the next day in the week as well as longer sessions
  12. spot on, cheers hammer, the guy that works in my local tackle shop raves about this place, its one of the few i've never even visited, sounds like its worth a look
  13. been there twice last year and blanked both times so cross your fingers! i'd take a spinning rod and walk the river....
  14. hello, i'm hoping some of you can help.i live in kings lynn and i've been fishing on and off for a while. i'm hoping to get a bit more serious and start catching some 20lb + fish. over the last few years i've gone to places in the area like taswood, bluebell etc with very little success so i think my best course of action is to join a water next year (i'd considered bradmoor but have heard bad things) so i can get to know it. i'd be grateful for people opinions on where they think would best? i'd like somewhere quite close so i can do over-nighters regularly, will mostly fish with mates so double swims etc would be great, and most importatntly want to start catching good size fish. any general views and tel numbers and prices would be gratefully received, cheers!
