    hook links

do you needs such heavy line of the reels? every thing depends on your target size fish, as above hair rigs up to 25lb breaking strain braid are not uncommon due to braids thin diameter, making your own is fun and rewarding, as you can change the over all length, or the hair length etc to try and up your catch rates good luck Bowza

    zig

yup, gonna do a stupid early session in the morning, so wont have time for them to get to the surface in the sun, as Ill be home before lunch, but an evening in the week may be possible Bowza

    zig

If floater fishing is banned on the lake should I zig an inch below the surface and feed floaters to the area? Bowza
  4. I would throw in there is no right and wrong with rig tying , lots of people will do it slighly different to try and change from the norm, to add that little bit of change to what the fish are used to, as long as the basics are close most will satisfy your needs i May aim to tie three rigs the same but all will differ, weather it is length of hair, length of overall hook link, or with ot without tubing , blowback ring have fun and try out something new, you may find the next super rig for your water that everyone else wants Bowza
  5. do a search for Magic Bread love it Bowza
  6. as I am used to using pva mesh tubing , at first I know what you mean about getting the knot close and tight, but with a little practice I can now make very tight presentations, a like them tight after watching one in the margin on a cold morning, explode as the pva melts and distribute i nice spread of offerings so practice, its all about sliding the knot tight down to the bait, or as in the video up to the bait, try different ways of holding the parcel to ease the use Bowza
  7. Gnorty , the quick clip is a good tip , i missed this in my first season, part of most of my rigs now, Bowza
  8. I was always taught by my old fella to air on the larger size when fishing, even in the canals fishing for roach perch etc. I would use nothing smaller than a size 12 for maggot or worm fishing, I fish a lake that has a lot of low to middle doubles, and fish a size 6 hook most of the time I have plenty of nice action Bowza
  9. Re the foam, its pva disolving foam people use, so ones its helped get the bait up to the surface, it does disolve and no risk to the fish , I am yet to try a zig rig myself Bowza
