Dont worry about not contacting me, I went for a walk on Sunday around 3pm and all i spoke to echo what you said above, no one was catching, and those that did where few and far between, it started raining and my daughter was moaning she was cold so we did not walk as far as the point,
its a funny old place, I will fish it from time to time to get my daughter some practice,
good luck finding another venue

yes it will be sunday i think

they have lowered the water so you can bivvy up on the sandy mud infront og the boards, the water was too low to fish safely from the boards but not enough space on the mud to setup, so night fishing should be easier for the next few weeks

I would consider stanwick lakes in northamptonshire, choice of mallard or elsons
both well worth the visit

not a problem fella,
I think Ive said before if you can get close to the Boats on the right hand side, or on around the point on the left, both should produce fish from the middle and depending on wind surface fishing is very productive,
the res seems to pick up after 3pm so dont be dis heartened if slow during the early part of the day, night time is mental from all accounts never been brave enough to try it, if I did I would proberbly drop to one rod,
dont ignore close in either at night, think of all the food that gets kicked nocked in off those boards,
have a top session, the bailiff will fetch takeaway food from the local chippie sometimes, if he not busy, its not cheap though
Good luck

water is as high as ive seen it during summer months, no beach out front of the boards on either side on Wednesday when I drove past

unlike my local pool I fish, I would want the wind behind me on drayton, so fish where u can with the wind at your back
Bowza

depends on wind conditions, the left hand point is popular, and on the right side as close to the boat as you can get
as the water is up and if it goes up any more the next few days I would drop one under the boards at your feet
Good luck

Mr Fox
You would need to get there early on friday to get on one of the night fishable swims, there are only about 25, and it gets very busy at weekends,
looking from the damn wall , you have the boat hous to the right with about 15 swims where you can get a bivvy setup, past the last of the boats,
on the left side there are 2 -3 before the decking bridge you can bivvy up, then another 10 or so round the point.
it gets busy, drive down this week you will see what I mean , Slick1 is fishing there now, I chatted for about an hour, and there are people bivvied up on the 2 areas I mention above,
good luck bowza

difficult if busy or people dont park correctly, need to park diagonal to damn wall

boilies are fine, pop ups wafters the pigs will eat anything
ther a little too big for a keep net, mid to upper doubles average I think

Most things work, surface is best after 2pm on summer afternoons, bottom baits with pva pellets, method mix, single baits
all work its a runs water, some people only fish one rod as 2 can be too complicated
its not hard in anyway to catch,
but dont loose concentration, seen many a person loose a rod n reel to the fat pigs in there

just lots of kids I hear
Bowza

do you needs such heavy line of the reels? every thing depends on your target size fish,
as above hair rigs up to 25lb breaking strain braid are not uncommon due to braids thin diameter, making your own is fun and rewarding, as you can change the over all length, or the hair length etc to try and up your catch rates
good luck

carpark is not that big so the lake can be fairly empty but know where to park,
I saw 5 lads on the damn wall all with mid doubles on at once, it can fish very well,
but all the fish a ugly and many with damaged mouths and tails
you will have a good chance to witness all that is wrong in carp fishing in a few hours at drayton,
I have fished it a few times to see this, its a shame as you get some good takes and good sport,
each to their own, give it a go and make your own mind up
