  1. gotcha. does look like a fine place to fish pentney. just those damned power lines! what a place to build under! oh well. i reckon i'm down there in a couple of weeks for sat all day session - if i can get on there. are you a member? another forum i'm on, gives really mixed reports of great fishery, but the carp are moved to the specimen lake? have a weeks hols start of sept, a midweek session is inevitable methinks....
  2. had a little look at both the above today. pentney does look very very open for fishing, other lakes have watersports. looks very good, apart from the power lines over one lake. as long as you're careful, not a problem. theres several different lakes, and two bigger lakes we looked at are real promising. lillies, tree lined, weedy.... its called Willowcroft fisheries - try that in google narborough - loads of carp mooching about at surface level just waiting to be caught. gonna be hard though, but exciting. next weekend, thats where i'm heading saturday for a 24 hour session. the fish won't be as big as pentney, but looks too good not to try
  3. tottenhill buttonhole, marshland st james (more match, but good day out!) woodlakes, stow bridge dents farmshop at hilgay near downham market the great ouse @ ten mile bank! try the wissy outlet.... townsend, outwell near wisbech fendicks, northwold have fun! let us know how you got on
  4. evening whats the crack with pentney then? the website says its just water sports there now, and fishing is no longer permitted. i've seen somewhere is that you still fishi it tho any details, greatly accepted
  5. nice. next weekend it is then. thinking woodlakes near downham market, but i did love the look of tazwood when there. could be the local lakes tmorrow i think. anyone tried dents at hilgay? its on my doorstep, but have fished it too often. need somewhere new - with bigger carp....
  6. i tried tazwood last summer, only for a day session though. tried the Grove too - looked great from an early morning walk around and well confident from the lillies and off the opposite bank! however, me and 2 mates all blanked and thought it was quiet hard. spoke to regulars down there who were a good bunch to be honest. i came away with the impression more of a night water, and you need to be there for 48 hours to get stuck into fish. but, that was just who the fella's i spoke too. am thinking bout this sat to sometime sunday mornin to be honest....feel the need for carp! any know how Tazwood is fishing??
  7. hi all, i'm looking for a good venue to fish to get stuck into the obvious. i'm based on the cambs/norfolk border, but travel obviously. dents and woodlakes are my usual waters, but need to spread the wings. need to bag the 20+ - too many teams to mention in the last year! have only got back into the fishing last spring year after a 15 year break. fully kitted up and now - things had changed a lot in 15 years off the bank. any ideas greatly appreciated. will be trying willowcroft and taswood in the coming months, but i hear they're quite hard. a fews runs waters would be great to have a few sessions on.
