Hello mate,I was one of the three musketeers invited down to this lake in Oct/Nov 2008. I had met the owner on a previous french fishing trip. The lake is a new lake that has never been run as a commercial fishery, and therefore no stock record was available. However i know for a fact that the owner (Vince),fished the lake for 8 days after buying the property in spring 2008 whereupon he banked 12 carp from 18lb to 34lb most of which he photographed and put on his website (www.etanglaplanchette.com).That is all the info available on original stock,as he was unable to net the lake due to the existing islands and snags. He has since added 114 carp between 20-39lb,8 40lb+ fish,5 nice sturgeon,3 blue carp and a few nice Grassies. This however doesn,t conclude their stocking,as they are awaiting the arrival of a couple of 50,s to tempt the big fish hunters.I would say the lake is about 8 acres in size ,and has 8 spacious swims to choose from.Anyway, back to my weekends fishing.I caught 14 carp in 2 days between 20-31lb,every fish was in mint condition, and all gave a good account of themselves. On the strength of that short trip i,ve booked the whole lake for opening week to try and snare some of the larger residents ,i fancy the 44lb 6oz common.
Vince and Tina the Owners made us extremely welcome, and we were fed to bursting point by Tina. To summarise this is a lovely place to spend a weeks fishing, irrespective of your experience.in the company of nice and friendly people and most importantly a realistic chance of an impressive catch report. I hope this helps you make your decision on where to fish.
