alright lads,
well i know that its a cardinal sin but ive decided to bring my missus fishing with me for a few days, only problem is, she doesnt do bivvy's or roughing it!!! so i need to find a place that has accomodation on the lake (log cabin etc) fully loaded with shower, toilets and a proper bed. now i went to anglers paradise a few years ago and loved it but the cabins arent actually on the lakes. so can anyone suggest anywhere that fits my criteria????? as many suggestions as possible please lads as some places might be fully booked!!!!!
cheers!!!

ed,
i use this rig an awful lot, and, in answer to your question's,1 no i dont think its the most versatile, due to it being an in-line, if you are fishing over silt, the lead will drag your hooklength into the silt aswell, and also, 2 yeah the hooklength does matter for that reason, plus it also depends how far up the leader/tubing you put your bead, to how far the lead will come back. plus if you tighten up the line to the lead after the cast, the lead should be bang on the swivel!
hope this helps pal

most of my hooklinks are around 6-8 inches, works for me!

i use a coated hooklink, with the last inch behind the hook, stripped back, and a pva nugget on the hook, works for me!

i use the korda quick clips, and once the rig is on the clip i cover the clip with the korda silicone sleeves, and i have never had any problems whatsoever, i trust them 100%!

zander, im just not into leadcore mate, and the guy reccomended it to me, and i find it brilliant, i must say, i dont use the choddy that often, but when i do, (not being big headed) ive caught 90% of the time
magic, absolute magic!

I only use leadcore if I am fishing the chod, if anyone could tell me how to make the Chod with out leadcore I would happily get rid of it
yet again, korda safe zone leader!

how about, a korda safezone leader?

im always messing about with different rigs, and i do catch on near enough all of them however, i havent noticed many benifits of one over another, so i always end up going back to a very simple one in the end!

this is probably the best book i have ever read!!! i love war/military books, and this is still the best read by far. its about a (huey) chopper pilot in viet nam. although tracks his whole carreer from start to finish. its a true life story and there is a very unusual ending. il leave that for you to find out!
so stop wasting time and go get it!

yeah 31 waters in total including a few stretches of river, most of the lake descriptions havent changed in 10 years so they arent very reliable, but barleylands has fish up to 30lb, check out this page mate...

allo again mate,
that one in the pic is the biggest ive had out of there at just under 14lb, but ive heard there were some over 18lb in there. with the sturgeon you really cant tell how big or what fish it is until you see it coming in ive had a lot of different takes!, some scream off and some dont fight at all and just come straight in! funny thing aswell is i had that exact same fish the next morning aswell! must have been loving my bait!
good luck mate, tight lines

allo mate,
i used to fish there a few seasons ago, fished it quite regularly, there are loads of sturgeon in there and can be caught on a variety of baits including maggots and boilies! not sure if they come out in winter though? there were/are some big carp in there up to 20lb i think? biggest i had was a mirror of 19lb 8 oz, these fall to all sorts of baits, boilies (mailnline fusion, NRG, etc) although i was fishing once and saw a young lad absolutely bagging up on freelined luncheon meat. however... i heard a rumour that all the big carp got taken out, but the sturgeon were left in. im not sure how true this is? and not entirely sure where i heard it? maybe it was just a tale, but i havent fished it now for about 2 years.
heres a few i had out..
hope this helps, tight lines bud...

cal,
sometimes you have to use tackle components from the same company to get everything to work, (not always) but give it a go.
