I know that there is a close season on this lake at the mo which doesnt lift till mid June but can anyone tell me anything about it? There seems to be very very little information i can find by Googling it. I am looking for a water i can go to for a few hours after work during the week to try a bit of surface fishing. Can this lake be recommended or any others local to Epsom/Sutton? Thanks

I have been to Woodlakes about 4 or 5 times now. You can fish the main lake from the swim out the back of your lodge. It is beautiful but myself, my brother and three mates have yet to catch anything out of it!!! I sometimes wonder if there are any fishin it at all! There is even very little action to be had on a float rod! There are other lakes there, North lake and two pole lake and you can catch quite easily out of these but you'll be lucky if you catch anything over about 12 lbs. So overall the fishing on the maion lake is cr@p but ok for a bit of fun on the other lakes. The venue is beautiful though, lovely in teh summer to have a bbq whilst the rods are out! I will be going back there.

Hi, I am also looking to go for a week to France early April. The missus is pregnant and is due at the end of May so this will be the last time i can get out for a while. We are looking to book a lake exclusively with a lodge with all the creature comforts. In the party will be my brother and a mate, me & my girly. Can anyone recommend a decent venue? Not too far south though as she is not that keen on a massively long drive. And of course decent sized fish! Thanks
